Selasih Finance — a space for considered family conversations

Our Story

Built for the Conversations That Matter Most

Selasih Finance grew from a simple observation: too many Malaysian families arrive at inheritance matters without preparation — not from negligence, but from a lack of accessible guidance.

About Us

A Company Founded on Patience and Clarity

Selasih Finance was established in Johor Bahru with a clear purpose: to make estate planning education available to ordinary Malaysian families in a form they could actually use. Our founders had watched parents and grandparents leave behind estates that became sources of confusion and family tension — not because the law was unclear, but because no one had explained it in plain terms while there was still time.

The name "Selasih" is a reference to the fragrant herb found across Malaysian households — something small, familiar, and quietly valuable. It reflects our approach: estate planning does not need to be imposing. It can be introduced gently, within the rhythm of family life, and attended to in measured steps.

We serve Malaysians 40 and above across all communities — Malay, Chinese, Indian, and others — with programmes that address both civil and Islamic estate frameworks under Malaysian law. Our team includes experienced educators, licensed estate planning advisors, and a partnered shariah consultant who brings depth to our Islamic inheritance content.

Our Mission

To equip Malaysian families with the knowledge and structured tools needed to address estate planning with confidence — before circumstances make it urgent.

Our Values

  • Unhurried Guidance

We work at the learner's pace, not our own schedule.

  • Professional Rigour

All content is reviewed against current Malaysian legislation and practice.

  • Family-Centred Approach

We recognise that estate planning involves not just assets but relationships.

  • Cultural Sensitivity

Our programmes address the needs of Malaysia's diverse communities with equal care.

How We Work

Standards We Hold to in Every Programme

Estate planning education carries a responsibility that we take seriously. The following are the professional and ethical standards that shape every session, every consultation, and every piece of material we produce.

Current Malaysian Law

All content references current legislation — the Distribution Act 1958, the Wills Act 1959, EPF Act provisions, and relevant Islamic law — reviewed annually and updated when significant changes occur.

Licensed Professional Partners

All advisors who conduct consultations within our programmes hold relevant Malaysian professional licences or qualifications — estate planners, will-writers, and shariah consultants.

Learner Privacy

Information shared during consultations and group sessions is treated with strict confidentiality. We do not retain personal asset information beyond the programme duration without consent.

No Sales Pressure

Our advisors are educators, not salespeople. No learner will be directed toward specific financial products or commercial services during a Selasih Finance programme.

Multilingual Accessibility

Materials and glossaries are available in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. Sessions can be conducted in Malay or English, with Mandarin available in selected cohorts.

Ongoing Curriculum Review

Course materials are reviewed by our advisory panel twice yearly to reflect changes in Malaysian estate law, tax considerations, and best practice guidance from estate planning bodies.

Estate Planning Knowledge for Malaysian Families

Selasih Finance addresses a gap that many Malaysian families recognise too late: the absence of structured, accessible education on inheritance, estate distribution, and wealth transfer across generations. Operating from Johor Bahru with sessions extending to Kuala Lumpur and online, we serve learners who want to approach these matters thoughtfully rather than reactively.

Our programmes draw on the expertise of practising Malaysian estate planning professionals. Content covers civil estate planning under the Wills Act 1959 and the Distribution Act 1958, alongside Islamic estate instruments including wasiat, hibah, and Faraid distribution — equipping learners from all Malaysian communities with applicable, locally relevant knowledge.

The team at Selasih Finance believes that clarity in estate matters is an act of care — for spouses, children, and the wider family circle. Our work is shaped by that belief, and by the conviction that the most valuable estate conversations begin long before they become necessary.
